The Theme
(Thanks to Mae Burke for the free theme)
While searching for a theme that would closely reflect the purpose of this blog, I came across this one with the picture of a precious cat lying on a quilted blanket. I immediately fell in love with it, one because it could represent the idea of crafting with the quilt, and two the family has one cat looking exactly like this one. We call him Fendos in honor of a story shared to my grandchildren by a friend who comes from Germany to work with us as a missionary.
I think I would be using this one for a long time unless I find time and energy to make my own CSS just like I did with "Compassion @ Work." How I wish I could but who knows.
Soon perhaps, when I find pictures of the kids doing crafts with me, I will start posting stories of how we went along hand-crafting. There were times when the kids struggled with twine or yarn in order to create crochet stitches. It was funny looking back when yarn and hook battled in their young hands just to make a chain or a double crochet. But then time little by little flexed those fingers to eagerly follow patterns or craft on their own.
Surprise of all surprises between the three grands was my only grandson learning first and so proud too. He started making cellphone pouches and purses to sell to close relatives.
Mind you guys, what we are doing is part of their home-schooling and projects are being graded. Naturally they are forced to try and evidently they are loving it now after peace was declared and signed by the hook and the yarn.
One purpose for this blog is accomplished while the secondary, yet might be the lingering one, will follow soon.
Thanks Google and Blogger. (Gmail, please help me open again my older one.😰😰)
